Indoor drift training

Only a short teaser of my yesterdays indoor drift training,┬á čÖé

more to come in one of my next posts.

As the last time, it was a tough training and required a lot of stamina – ouch, my muscles are really, really sore now – to handle the small bikes over the lenght and bends of the Go Cart circuit.

As usually, I didn’t finish, without an accident.

In my last round – now knowing what I could do čśë┬á – I might have tried it a little bit to much. Just a little bit. čśë
Unfortunatelly there was a steel beam just in my escape way – OOOOUUUUCCCCHHHH,┬á that was hard.

Fortunatelly the gear worked, but excactly at the gap between knee- and shoe protectors the edge of the beam found the way to my bones.

But, hey! Versya’s bones are even stronger then steel, so it seems!
I only do have bad bruises and a contusion at my right shin. Totally worth it┬á čśë

Video of the training, chases with my Junior and others, as well as the accident will follow, I promise!┬á but for know I have to go easy for some time, you know…..

Happy Holidays!

Winter is there, as usal, around Christmas with approx. +10┬░ degrees temperature.

So, I will spent at least one day with my bike.┬á čÖé

I want to thank you all for the great response to my blog!

I promise, I will do my best to fill it with my impressions in the next year too!

Happy Holidays

Pls. feel free to comment, it doesn’t hurt at all čśë

Yeeeeessss

I am glad, it’s over….

Finally,┬á 2 1/2 years after the ┬á accident at the Gro├čklockner,┬á my trial was sentenced finally, after 2 objections of my disputant (Austria’s biggest insurance company):

Thanks to my legal protection, it wasn’t to hard to undertake the necessary step to sue them.

But, due to the bad situation at the accident site (no witnesses, opponent was driving in the car with his wife) and the photos were not detailed enough to clarify the exact spot  of  impact.

Not at the car, this pictures where perfect,
but the spot on the street where we collided originally, as this would have  made  the aftermath a lot easier.

So it was solely with the expert witness to decide whose testimony was true, based on all facts available, photos and damage analyses.

My opponent was convicted 100% guilty after the first trial, but he objected to the decision of the courts 2 times, but, at the end, the conviction is now final.

My learnings:

  • witness testimonies are gold, as they are neutral and therefore the most credible.
  • Take as much photos as possible, take care to cover overview, but close details too. In my case, my old smart phone only showed a mixed pattern on the tarmac, where the glass splinter of his driver window were laying.
A detailed photo of them, and the case wouldn’t have even started :-/
  • Put as much detail and effort into the accident report as possible, be careful if your opponent is filling the form. Try to negotiate neutral terms in the descriptions.
  • If your opponent still does not act honest, dont’ bother and call the police to file the report with them.

Easy sayed, just escaped narrow death and then consider all this?

I was shaking like a leaf, and therefore not capable to write, even if I would have wanted, but still you can dictate your point of view and keep above mentioned practise in mind.

Also important:

At court, stay with the truth, it was kind of amusing to watch my opponents testimony crumble under the questions of the expert witness, as it didn’t fit to the accident marks on his car.

If you can not state exact numbers (eg.. for speed, or distances) only state “declared” assumptions

Lessons learned, glad, it’s over.┬á┬á čÖé

Happy birthday

to me, to me čÖé

This time I decided for a two-part race suit, as this would be more comfortable for casual riding, too.
Hopefully it does protect me well, just in case. čÖé
